Stone Environmental, Inc. is a small, 100% employee-owned company based in Montpelier, Vermont that provides innovative solutions, scientific tools, and analyses to help clients solve complex environmental challenges. Our diverse team of 50 scientists, engineers, modelers, GIS professionals, and application developers share a commitment to excellence, creativity, and accountability through employee ownership. Stone's areas of expertise include web application development using the ArcGIS platform, spatial analysis and mapping; data discovery, aggregation, and visualization; as well as environmental planning, modeling, and policy.
Over the past decade, our team has met clients’ growing needs by developing and deploying web-based mapping applications and mobile tools using ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Online. Our informative data visualizations, story maps, and versatile web applications communicate insights to specialists, scientists, and non-expert audiences alike. Services
Overview:
Stone works on a diverse set of GIS mapping and application development projects, developing innovative solutions to address challenges related to agriculture, water resources and climate change. We have developed unique capabilities in the design and creation of geospatial visualizations and interactive, exploratory and web-accessible maps. We continually expand our knowledge by pioneering the implementation of Esri web applications including Hub, ArcGIS Dashboards, ArcGIS StoryMaps, ArcGIS Insights and Experience Builder . We also are leaders in configuring and using Survey123, Collector and Field Maps for mobile data collection.
Stone’s Geospatial and Data Solutions team provides the design, programming, development, documentation, and delivery of these applications, which includes understanding client needs and process requirements. We also provide comprehensive data compilation and development services. These services include locating and compiling data for a wide variety of projects; developing data and creating geodatabases to support projects; creating complete metadata documentation; and developing data discovery solutions using Hub.
Our GDS team also collaborates with other Stone service lines to develop custom applications using ArcGIS Server that integrate with agricultural models.
