The business activities are the implementation, application and development of geographic information systems for environmental and spatial planning as well as for geomarketing purpose. geomer is well known as an outstanding research and consulting company for flood and natural hazard management. Our flagship products in this area is Flood Area HPC (Distributed high performance computing), a hydro-dynamic modeling framework for ArcGIS. As full-service provider for GIS technology, geomer provides the complete range of necessary services, software and data products as well as experienced training for successful project implementation. To complete the range of services, geomer cooperates with science-related partners from different disciplines, universities, software developers (ESRI) and data providers. Founded in 1999 in Heidelberg geomer has since been delivering comprehensive knowledge and support to its clients. Long-term clients include the German Insurance Association, Airbus Defence and Space (Infoterra), Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit and many others. We are authorized reseller for ESRI software desktop and server products in Germany. We offer also a wide range of national and international GIS datasets and services. Amongst all we are an international authorized reseller of HERE content and HERE Location Platform.

Research: The focuses of our research activities traditionally concentrate on multi-risk provisioning flood hazards and desaster management strategies. Additionally, new fields of research are geo-strategies for renewable energies. Geodata management: Working with huge, international datasets is easy for us. We know how to handle multi-user editing environments. A lot of experience was gained dealing with DEM, DSM and LIDAR data. Software development and design strategies: In order to fulfill the needs of our customers, a wide range of technical skills and development environments is provided. Applied standardized project methodology comprises project management, software design, software development, configuration management and quality management.
