Overview

Founded in 1997 by a partnership of GIS specialists and foresters, the Kenerson Group (TKG) has provided innovative, user-friendly GIS solutions to state and local governments, utility companies, and private-sector arboriculture and forestry firms throughout the United States and Canada. The company is based in western Massachusetts. TKG's flagship product is TreeWorks for ArcGIS, a tree management software system built on the ArcGIS and ArcPad platforms. The TreeWorks system represents the culmination of years of research by TKG's in-house partnership of GIS developers and arborists. There are currently 70 TreeWorks users in the United States and Canada, with more coming on board every month. Users include Cambridge, Massachusetts; Greenwich, Connecticut; Warwick, Rhode Island; Eugene, Oregon; University of Washington, Seattle; Spokane, Washington; and Kamloops, British Columbia. The Kenerson Group's other primary focus has been developing ArcGIS software-based applications and databases for utility companies, providing specialized tools and database schema for vegetation management and endangered species/wildlife management on utility rights-of-way. Long-term clients include Northeast Utilities, National Grid, and Wisconsin Public Service. TKG also provides other GIS services such as GIS-based cartographic map production, parcel mapping, and Esri-authorized training courses to municipal, nonprofit, and private-sector organizations.

Overview:

The Kenerson Group's premier product, TreeWorks (an extension for ArcGIS), is an urban tree inventory and management software package. Clients include municipalities, educational facilities, golf courses, and military bases. The Kenerson Group is a full-service GIS consulting firm and has extensive experience designing and implementing custom GIS solutions. Every system designed is unique and specific to the individual customer's needs. Client applications also involve transmission line and other rights-of-way land data management. This includes, but is not limited to, pipeline, electric utility, highway, forestry, parks, and natural resources.
